![]() What I'm asking of you is to help me find resources about structuring game engines, specifically 2D, and it would really help if someone knows of a flashpunk game that published its source. So I have a basic platformer, but where to put the RPG elements? How to handle all the UI and different menus? I'm familiar with the libraries and how to code, but I don't know what the full game should feel like. ![]() I find there's some sort of invisible ceiling I hit when the complexity of the game reaches a certain level. What I'm trying to do is something more like Metroidvania, however, a platformer-RPG. I can easily write simple games like asteroids, tetris, or a simple platformer. I also did a lot of programming outside of games, mainly in Java, so my OOP is not bad. I used GameMaker (Game Maker code, GML, and not the icons) for a long time so I'm familiar with the basic structure of games, and I'm pretty good at translating the game design into game logic. ![]() I'm working on a flash game using flashpunk. ![]()
